Why school wellness programming at your district?

Because the Trustees and the employee Benefit Information Committee of the Butler County Health Plan (BCHP) realize the importance of prevention, early detection in treating illness and wellness education for employees, BCHP has funded wellness programs for all member school districts for over 10 years.

Wellness Coordinators volunteer their time and effort to plan health promotion programming, organize flu shots and health screenings, and are genuinely interested in helping to educate their fellow employees on healthy lifestyle habits. Join and help your school's wellness committee by contacting your school district's wellness coordinator or email Julie Gillum at bchp_jg@swoca.net.

BCHP Wellness Program Goals

  • To increase self-care and health awareness levels through the wellness coordinators. By each district forming their own district level wellness committees to assess their needs, to plan programming, schedule health screenings-flu shots on site, and to coordinate wellness programs at all sites.

  • To improve early detection through the Covered Wellness Benefits in the Health Plan Design.

What is Wellness?

Wellness is a lifestyle, a choice, and a process that includes the balance of mind, body, spirit, social, emotions, and career. Each of these areas is equally important to living a well-rounded life.

Our goal is to empower you for the choices and challenges concerning positive behaviors towards wellness that will last a lifetime through school wellness programming. Take care of you and choose an area to improve.
